Dude, this MyHeritage.com thing is fucking ridiculous! I can't help but laughing at these celebrities that I sorta-resemble, as well as some of the pics of the celebrities themselves. So yeah, using my current facebook photo, I look like:

1. Preity Zinta (dunno who she is, she's not too bad-looking)
2. Condoleeza Rice (wtf?!)
3. Peter Sellers (yeah Peter, you da man!...................yeah i have no fucking clue who you are :P)
4. Keanu Reeves (far out, dude)
5. Ingrid Berman (ok)
6. Rick James (I'm Rick James, BITCH!)
7. Colin Powell (I guess I have a politician's face or something :P)
8. Naomi Watts (aight)
9. Katie Holmes (yeahhhh hottie)
10. Mariah Carey (haha)

Too funny.

So yeah, we have a cat now. I just found out this evening from my sister. So how did we come about getting this cat? Well, it belonged to a friend of my mom's. She was recently diagnosed with colon cancer, and I think is now in a nursing home. The cat needed to go somewhere, so my mom took the liberty of taking it in. Not sure how I feel about this. On one hand, it'll be nice to have another animal in the house. On the other hand, I'm allergic! On one hand, I like cats. On the other hand, I'm allergic! I even told my mom that when I went home last week, because she was considering taking the cat in. Granted I'm not home that often, I will be for a whole month starting on the 21st. I won't get to see it till then. It's an old cat, and I think my mom said it was a tabby cat. So yeah, we have a cat now lol.

ETA: Did I mention that its name is "Andy"? :| Yeah that'll be awkward around the house, since I hate being called that nickname, ha.

So first, Joe Torre didn't win the AL Manager of the Year award. In fact, he didn't even finish 2nd!! He finished 3rd. Ozzie Guillen of the White Sox won the award. I give him a lot of credit, because his team was struggling down the stretch, but they had an outstanding postseason and won the World Series. Eric Wedge, the Manager of the Indians, got 2nd place. The Indians had a great season, and I give them a lot of credit too. I used to hate the Indians, back in the mid-to-late 90's. They used to have Manny, Juan Gonzalez, Jim Thome, Jaret Wright, Roberto Alomar, all snotty players. They're a completely different team now, and they could have made the playoffs if they didn't have a bad stretch at the end. So yeah, Eric Wedge did a tremendous job.

Joe Torre, however, did an AMAZING JOB for the Yankees during the 2nd half of the season. GM Brian Cashman has to be congratulated too for the moves he made, all the right ones: getting Chacon, calling up Aaron Small and Chien-Ming Wang. He had his toughtest season with the Yankees in his career, and they ended up winning the AL East over Boston. I'm glad he's staying with the team till 2007. :) Joe's the man, and the best manager in baseball, plain and simple. Boo to 3rd place lol.

So Mariano Rivera was runner-up to Bartolo Colon of the Angels for the AL Cy Young Award, GRRRRR!! I hate Bartolo...Yeah he had a very good season winning 21 games, but his ERA was kinda high, and he didn't strike out as many batters as he used to. In 2 outings against US this season, we fucking raped him. Remember A-Rod's 3 Home Run/10 RBI game? Yeah Bartolo started that game. Cy Young winners don't have outings like that. Mo was fucking spectacular this season. He blew his first 2 saves against Boston, but then converted a ton of saves in a row, and had his BEST SEASON in his career w/the Yankees, his ERA was 1.38...1.38!!! We wouldn't have gotten to the postseason without him, and that's the absolute truth. Mo rules, forever a Yankee. :)

Lastly, Tino won't be back with the Yankees next year. :'( He had a $3 million club option for next season, but the Yanks denied it. I thought Tino would return next season...he had an average year. He had that one month in May where he was absolutely fantastic, but when Giambi got hot Tino got a lot less playing time. I thought he would come back obviously as a bench player, but to come in late in games to play defense, because his defense is outstanding, and a LOT better than Giambi's. He also provides some power off the bench. The Yanks have said they'll prolly bring Andy Phillips up from AAA to be the bench player and play some 1B every once in a while. He's a young guy, so the Yanks are trying to bring in some younger players and cut payroll. Tino hasn't said whether he'll retire yet, he'll wait and see. If he does, then he ended his career at full circle kind-of, and he'll always be one of my all-time favorite players. :) Tinooooooo!

Vote Margaret Weinberger for Somerville office (specifically, I'm not sure), but vote for her! She's one of the teachers at my Middle School, so technically she could be considered my colleague. Anyways, she's a little crazy, but a very nice woman, and I hope she does well in the election today for Somerville! Thanks!

It wasn't mandatory for me to go, but c'mon, who wouldn't go to miss 3 days of school? ;) I had such a great time there. Recap below of Day 1:

2 more weeks till I have to go back to TCNJ...this summer is just zipping by...:-(

Next few weeks will be busy. As [info]northernsky_ suggested a few days ago, we should try to hang out as much as possible over these last few weeks. Bah. Hate school and the last few weeks leading up to it.

Here's my schedule for this week:

Monday: work 6-11 a.m.
Tuesday: work 6-11 a.m., Amanda's party at night? Will it still be taking place Amanda?
Wednesday: free
Thursday: wisdom teeth surgery in the morning (guys, I'm scared to death about this...mostly about the side effects and how I'll be feeling after the surgery is done)
Friday: resting
Saturday: resting

There's a very slim possibility that I'll be okay by Saturday night, but I'm not banking on it. I'll be thankful if I'm up and around the following Sunday.

Guys I'd love to get in a bowling day this week, before Thursday. We haven't gone all summer! We should def. try to get together and pick a day to go bowling, that is of course if you guys wanna go bowling. Next week might work too, but I don't know...that's what I like to call "crunch week" where we're all shopping for school stuff and packing and trying to get as many things done as we can. Let me know if you're free!

Side note: at work today Linton and Crystal were talking about Six Flags and Busch Gardens and the roller coasters and rides. Man, that made me really really wanna go to Six Flags before going back to school. You know it's been at least a couple years since we went there? That was the big blackout day where all the rides were down. I think we only got to go on the ferris wheel that day lol. Quite pathetic. :P I'd love to go on the coasters. It would be impossible for us to find a day to all go in these next two weeks, but that was just something that was on my mind this morning.

Dear Jamie,
I don't care if Tom made you "Floor Captain" for the morning. You were a bossy little bitch this morning. Telling us to get this done and pick all the boxes up and move here...I've been with the morning crew ALL FUCKING SUMMER! We KNOW what we're doing!! Also, would it kill you to introduce yourself or at least ask me what my name was? Giving me commands and not saying "Please"...well that's just rude. At first when I saw you around the store earlier in the summer I had 2 thoughts. The second one was "hey she's kinda cute." But now I agree with my first thought, and will expand on it. You're a punk...a rude, bossy, bitchy, punk.

Dear fat Hispanic or Asian girl whose name begins with an "M",
First of all, do NOT take merchandise out of my hand and put it on the shelf and walk away without even saying a GODDAMN WORD! Just because I couldn't fit that product in that one spot does not mean I won't be able to find someplace to put it. I've been doing this for 2 months now. Let me do my fucking job, aight?! Second of all, don't be all nice and call me "buddy." I have a name. All you have to do is ask...that too hard for you? Third, don't ever...ever fucking yell across the entire store just to get Jamie's attention to ask her a question. Are you that fat and lazy that you can't get up and walk around the store and find her yourself, or AT LEAST get on the phone and page her? Oh wait, yeah you are.

And to think up to this point I've had the nicest and coolest co-workers. It's a good thing this was one of those days where we're still doing phase changes and they had to call in the afternoon/evening/cashier people to help out.

Deciding to come in this morning when I wasn't scheduled to was a mistake...oh well. Hopefully Thursday and Friday will go better.

Couldn't have asked for a better birthday:

- made some $ at work
- kicked ass in bowling and got a turkey!
- dinner and drinks
- cake
- Yankees beat Boston (YEAH!!)

I wish I could have gotten sleep last night and slept more in the afternoon, but that's not that big of a deal.

Thanks again guys! :D

And no I'm not talking about HP, haha. :P I'll finally be legal in just over 3 hours, been waiting for this day for a while. ;) Timing couldn't be better cuz I'm finally getting over the flu that I've had all week. Who the heck gets sick TWICE during the summer?! I swear to god...Ironically enough, both times I have gotten sick have been after the parties we've had. None of us was sick at Nichole's party, so I don't think I caught it from there. Symptoms started monday and got progressively worse: bad sore throat, chills, fever, runny/stuff nose, and cough. Right now I have the cough which is subsiding. I pulled an all-nighter last night cuz my cough kept me from getting any sleep. Getting an hour of sleep was not worth it at 4:30 a.m.

Work has been tough this week. Tuesday and Wednesday were very rough. One of those days I came in and started running a fever, pretty rough. So I was working this morning on no sleep, but I managed to keep busy and wasn't totally exhausted.

Yeah I'm retarded for not taking off work on my birthday tomorrow. :P But hey, I need the money, and I worked an extra day this week, so it's all good. Plus, even if I didn't have work tomorrow morning I'd prolly sleep till 11 anyway, which would be nice of course. It'd be nice if I could go to a bar or something at midnight, but I gotta got sleep for tomorrow morning.

Plans for after work tomorrow...I'm leaving that up to my friends *nudge nudge*. :P

I gotta fucking work Sunday and Monday, that's 4 work days in a row, not enjoying that. Oh well, I'll be 21 after tonight so I'm gonna fucking enjoy it. Peace out.

Oh hi there. It's been a decent while since I last typed an entry. I fiiiinally just finished my assignment. For those of you wondering, no I'm not taking a summer course. Over the summer I have to do several assignments for student teaching (yuck). 2 of them are due tomorrow, and I just finished the 2nd one a short while ago. Both of my assignments dealt with my visit to Montgomery Middle School last week to meet with my co-op. He's a really cool ago, I know I'm gonna enjoy working with him. Montgomery Middle School (and the High School) are reeeeeally nice looking. The Middle Schoolers have an Industrial Arts AND a Graphics Design classroom!! Why couldn't our Middle School have those? Well we had an Industrial Arts classroom sure, but it wasn't all that great. I'm actually gonna be student teaching at the high school cuz the 7th and 8th graders are moving over to the high school for the school year because there are too many students at the middle school. My co-op gave me a tour of both. We sat down and answered some questions I had for my assignments and the fall semester. Here's why my co-op is awesome: he says that I can begin teaching whenever I'm ready, he doesn't want to pressure me into starting within a certain timeframe and wants to wait until I'm comfortable and ready. That's a huge lift off my shoulders. I'll prolly take 2-4 weeks of observing before I start teaching. He also said for my Instruction Planning Assignment (a topic that we'll be teaching/in charge of for 3-6 weeks, I can choose ANY activity I want. The classes are either problem solving or structures & mechanisms based. I'm definitely gonna make this semester as worthwhile as I can. I'm gonna pick an activity I know I'll enjoy working on, the kids will have fun doing, and something that will not make me stress out like crazy and do insane amounts of work, which I'll have to end up doing anyway. :P I stayed for a class where my co-op was giving a final exam to his class. It was an activity, not a written final. I realized that morning that we didn't have finals in middle school! My co-op told me that the finals they give in the school aren't usually written comprehensive finals like in high school and college. The teachers aren't actually required to give finals! Anyways, I'm starting to get less and less pensive/scared about student teaching with each experience I get with a co-op, former student teacher, being in a classroom with kids, etc. Hell of course I'm still terrified about the amount of work I'll have to do, but in terms of being in a classroom and doing activities and stuff I think I'll be fine...I know I'll be fine.

So my job at Toys 'R Us has been going fine so far. I'm only working 20 hours a week so far, which has its good and bad points. The glaring bad point is that I need to make more money, and I want to work more hours. I'll probably wait a couple more weeks and then ask my manager if I can get more hours. I'm just afraid that they'll say no and that they can't give me more hours or something along those lines. I REALLY need the money...I had a few thoughts of looking for another job, but at this point in the summer I'm not gonna bother. The good thing about my shift is that I'm getting to bed sooooo much earlier than before I started working. However, that means I'm going to bed between 1 and 2:30 instead of 5 and 7 a.m., and the fact that I have to be up at 5:20 in the morning for work I'm still not getting enough sleep. The naps are back. :P Why just on Wednesday I slept from 1 till 7, it was great, I soooooo needed that. Last week I worked every other day, and then all of a sudden the schedule said I'm working 5 days in a row. A bit unexpected. The shift start out slowly, but by the time it gets to 8:30/9:00 a.m. the rest of the shift flies by. My co-workers are pretty nice. If I could work in the R-Zone this summer I will be ecstatic beyond belief. ;)

Last thing that's on my mind. I need to gain weight, or just muscle. Playing too much DDR has caused me to lose more weight than I expected. I think I've lost 5 lbs. this summer already. I'm trying to eat more now, but at the same time trying not to eat junk food or foods that have bad ingredients in them. So many things to watch for when you're dieting or just watching what you eat. Calories, fat, saturated fat, the dreaded CARBS, sodium, sugar, protein, where does it end? I think I just need more calories and more protein. I seriously wish there was a gym nearby that I could go to a few times a week. I really want to lift weights...screw the treadmill. :P Who knew that my mother's insanely healthy eating habits would rub off on me. :P

Things you enjoy, even when no one around you wants to go out and
play. What lowers your stress/blood pressure/anxiety level? Make a list, post it to your journal... and then tag 5 friends and ask them to post it to theirs.

1. Video games! I'm always playing them when I don't have a lot of work to do, whether it's at school or at home. They're a great way to relax...except when you're FREAKING OUT cuz the WHORD OF MONSTERS JUST KEEPS COMING AND ATTACKING. :P

2. Going to the gym. I finally started going last semester, and it was well worth it. I would always go on the treadmill or the stepper, and listen to music as I was exercising. Physical activity is always a good way to reduce your anxiety level.

3. Livejournal-ing. Like Nichole said, it's always good to write/type your thoughts down, even if they're private. It's just one way that you can vent without actually verbally telling someone and possibly getting emotional over it.

4. Music. I need my music, whether it's classical, techno, trance, techno classical, hard rock, metal. If I'm pissed or stressed there's certain music that I play depending on my mood. Classical musical or classical crossover for when I need to concentrate more, relax. Metal and hard rock if I'm really pissed off or angry about something. Music always works.

5. Drinking. Can't believe no one has mentioned this yet. :P Drinking and having fun with your friends is always a great way to get away from stress, put a rough week on a high note. Then again it's possible you can become emotional because of drinking, but most of the time that probably doesn't happen, and I guess it depends on where you drink and who you're with.

6. I'm adding a 6th one. Driving. At home my mom will really aggravate me every once in a while, and that's a signal for me to get out of the house. Whether it's just driving into Somerville or Bridgewater, or hanging out with you guys. Driving is very relaxing and helpful.

Well I can't tag 5 names to give their own list on these because they've been taken already. :P Plus I don't have that many other LJ friends. So I'm gonna put down [info]starfall2 as the successor.
